about lessons
Corey is a highly educated, experienced & sought after drum instructor in all styles of drumset & traditional world percussion. Whether you're just a beginner or have been drumming for many years, Corey will be able to help you reach your musical goals.
His central philosophy to teaching is to guide each individual to their desired musical goals through hard work, commitment and patience. This includes refinement of listening skills, ability to interpret and play all styles of music, basic time and pulse, sound, technique & creativity.
Studying with Corey is hard work, and he knows that. That is why he doesn't leave his students clueless when they leave the practice room. All students will learn how to listen, respond, and react to the music they love the most, while learning to play and appreciate new styles and concepts at the same time.
Lessons take place inside his professional teaching studio located inside Gary’s Music Store in Rome, NY. All ages and levels of ability are accepted.
Lessons can occur on a weekly or bi weekly basis according to your preference.
scheduling & availability
Private lessons take place during the week, and the hours vary depending on the day. Corey is on faculty at HCCC and Utica College during the school year, but gives private lessons before, after and in between his college teaching obligations.
In all the years he's been giving lessons, he's never encountered a situation where a scheduling conflict couldn't be worked out.

payment & cancellation policy
Payment is due in advance for each month of lessons.
If a situation arises where you must miss your scheduled lesson, Corey requires a 24 hour advance notice. If you fail to notify him prior to 24 hours of your lesson time, your payment will be forfeited, and you'll lose the option of a makeup lesson.
Lessons cancelled in time will be made up according to teacher/student availabilty.
